AKB joins the Love2Read initiative…
We have been invited by Robyn Ellard – Project Director of The Library Agency and initiators of The Love 2 Read project + The National Year of Reading initiative. They requested we join forces in promoting the joy of books to kids. We thought this was an awesome idea and one AKB is proud to support & link up with.
GEM MX & AKB join passions/ forces…
We were contacted by the crew at GEM MX enquiring into stocking Skate Session + Surf Safari titles. As we don’t just partner with anyone, we researched their business and were pleasantly surprised. GEM MX is a super sweet Aussie family feeding themselves through business in the retail world.
They are passionate about what they sell, offering a large variety of action sports based products. And we like that.

We wanted a store that was more about customer service and less about money and notoriety. Providing a platform for smaller, innovative and independent brands that may of otherwise not be seen in an international market. Kelly Slater WINS his 11th World Title at the Rip Curl Pro event…There is much talk that he is a freak, a talent from another planet…because of his amazing surfing skill and achievements.
And back in 2010, Kelly Slater gave Surf Safari the thumbs up and was excited to take home AKB to show his daughter. We are stoked on his surfing, and the fact he is stoked on our surfing book for kids…Awesome!
Bali – bloody bagus
The library at Uluwatu public school Bali, now have their very own copy of Skate Session & Surf Safari. The books were donated as a gesture of my thanks upon my visit to their wonderful surf crazed island. Also, a beggar boy on the streets of Kuta, and the Bali family i stayed with also received AKB pack.
Fan dresses up for Book Week…
National Book Week is on in Australia and thousands of kids will be dressing up as their favourite book character. And so little Jack prepares to roll to school as Maiso the Action Mouse. AWESOME

Networking at Byron Bay Writers Festival
I (Author – Chad Kolcze), attended The Byron Bay Writers Festival on the weekend. Whilst circulating the new AKB title – Surf Safari to media prospects, I also helped celebrate, congratulate and featured in a book titled – One Got Past The Keeper. This book is a great read for expecting dads…
